Can a number be placed on an air Mattress Bed slat foundation or the need for a flat base?

I bought only the top portion of a number of bed sleep and I would avoid buying the $ 400 base that Select Comfort sells. I want to get a head board / foot board, but they all seem to come with fins as the basis for a boxspring. Has anyone had some luck on a slat bed?

As long as a flat surface for you to blow OK. If your box springs are in good shape and has a good support I would not even sell the plastic base SC. If you do not have a good basis I would say get one of SC because they are good and easy to disassemble for moving etc. but with a good box spring you good to go. By the way, the mattress is the best my back has ever had.
