There are not many TV series which managed to bring an element of comedy with the talented actress who makes series a household name. The Golden Girls face the realities of life faced when people age. However, the show is far from depressing since the characters are all displayed in a positive light and the series has a raw humor. The show is all about life from forty years.
The show was first aired on television in 1985 and has managed to quickly become popular. These four women are Blanche Devereaux, played by Rue McClanahan, Dorothy Zbornak, played by Bea Arthur, Rose Nylund, played by Betty White and Sophia Petrillo played by Estelle Getty.
Blanche is a Southern girl with a taste for all types of men in the city and it dated back almost all the available men in the city. Dorothy had been a high school teacher while Rose is a widow and a homemaker. The three women were then joined by Sophia Petrillo is the mother of Dorothy, and an Italian immigrant who has a quick tongue and is a brand safe.
Sophia is the eldest of four and if she had suffered a stroke no one was ever sure of his sharp tongue and his simple opinion. The women live together and in time became best friends. Through this series, they discuss various personal problems and other issues that come only with age.
The Golden Girls seasons 1-7 TV series aired for eight years. During these seasons of the series succeeded in capturing more than 10 Emmy Awards and several other awards. During last season, Lucas wife Dorothy, Blanche's uncle. Lucas is played by Leslie Nielsen. Throughout the entire show, the troupe has managed to make its viewers laugh while creating awareness the problems that the average age brings with it. The format of the show was later copied in the United Kingdom as well, if she had never been able to be as famous as the girls from Golden.
The Golden Girls seasons 1-7 is a collection of all episodes of this charming comedy, which became a huge success since it appeared on television. The characters in the show are friendly and they all have their unique personality. The Golden Girls never became tiring and boring, even if it had been on air for eight years and still, the show is considered one of the best comedies of the eighties. With the good performance of cast members the show looked very real, while the spotlights were all stolen by the sharp-tongued Sophia.
