Pressure Air
Start with the barometer. The barometer is a very effective tool for measuring the feeding behavior of fish. The barometer is an instrument used to measure ambient atmospheric pressure. Do not worry, I'll simplify it for you and cut through all the scientific jargon for we can get to what really matters, catching fish. Measurement of atmospheric barometric pressure can then be used to help predict weather and more importantly for our purposes, the feeding behavior of fish. Have not we all wondered why fish were so easy to catch yesterday, but today you can not even get a bite?
You see when a front of low pressure is building I'm sure you've all heard this term on the weather channel, the barometer is low and dropping and a storm is present or on its way. When the barometer is high or rising, the weather was fine and dry. If youÂ're watch the weather on TV is that large capital L or H means to the weather map. L represents a low pressure system and H represents a high pressure system.
So what does this mean for I a fisherman? Let me explain. The barometer is a very useful tool that will unlock many of the "mysteries" of fishing. You say: "Come Trevor, is this really true? "The answer is yes, it's true. When the air pressure fluctuates, it affects the air bladders in the fish. A swim bladder of fish is that it uses to stabilize at different water depths. When the air bladder, a fish does not feel well He will not want to eat. Do you want to eat when your stomach is upset? Well donÂ't fish either.
When the barometer is low or falling, the fish spend most of their time to equalize their air bladder, and the last thing they think eats about. When this happens, you'll have a hard time deceiving a fish in the diet. On the other hand, when the opposite is true, and the barometer is rising, your chances to catch a fish, is much greater, because they feel more like eating.
Fish and wildlife know what to expect weather and can sense when a storm approaches, to a degree far greater than we humans can. YouÂ've probably noticed that when the weather is nice all the bugs are active outside and frolic about. This means that the barometric pressure is stable or very high. On the other hand, when the barometric pressure is low, you will not see nearly as many animals and those around you will not roam anywhere. Even cows in your local area will be lying. At times like this it can get pretty quiet on the lake or a river too. The fish came arenÂ't active.
Understanding how fish adapt to changes in their environment to allow angler to better predict the movement of fish and feeding. Figuring out when a fish is feeding is what we are interested because that is when you have the best chance of catching said fish. You may know that almost all saltwater fishermen check the tides before you head out fishing. ITA and an excellent strategy because the impact Tidal fishing. But you do not realize what causes the tides of change, is not it? That's the moon. And the gravitational attraction of the moon that impacts the tides also pushes against a part of the earth all the time. So the pressure is still there but since water is more mobile than ground water is raised towards the moon causing the tides to change. How high the tide will be high or low the tide go in May is largely determined by the position the moon and sun.
Know and understand this information is not only important for the angler saltwater though. Fishers Freshwater does not deal with the tides, as fishermen in saltwater, but the phases of the moon are very important for them too. What the fisherman wants to focus on the new moon and full moon periods on the calendar. The two or three days that followed these two events will result in more fish. It's that simple.
IÂ've been planning my fishing trip in observing these same principles for years and it is almost never fails. The phases of the moon are a very real factor in the feeding habits of fish. I always greater success during the full periods new moon, which I do at other times of the month and you can too.
What you, a fisherman wants to try to do is to have both factors come together at the same time. The perfect weather conditions combined with a full or new moon. When this happens, you'll have a nice day fishing, I promise. And if you're careful you can be there fishing when it happens.
