Green Eco
The article discussed last week's eco-friendly summer events taking place across the country. These events range from the discussion forums on the eco-friendly life to the music festivals that focus on staying green and little impact on the environment. I had the opportunity to attend Rothbury, which is one of the music festivals eco-friendly. This event strives to make your event as eco-friendly as possible. Here is a list of the Top 5 eco-friendly things happening in the second annual Rothbury.
1) Corn Utensils: After ordering some delicious food at the festival, I realized that the holder was a plastic fork, as I use to get it which was made from corn. This corn was reduced by the amount of plastic utensils in the festival. Have products from renewable plant sources in parallel with the idea of having green festival. The forks are sturdy and easy to dispose of properly.
2) Green Team: The green team was great in Rothbury. They were there all day Rothburians helping dispose of their rubbish properly. At the festival there are areas in which someone was there to help if the elements must be placed in the composting, recycling or trash. Having these people around was great and very useful!
3) Reflection: Think Tank in Rothbury was a place for like-minded people to gather and discuss important issues about the environment. They talked about things like the green economy, green jobs and ways to reduce their energy bills. After having allowed the Think Tank for concert-goers to take a break from music and have a debate about these eco-friendly ideas.
4) art recovered: Throughout the festival grounds, there was large-scale art bold statements about recycling, sustainability and being green. All the art was made from reused, recycled and natural materials. These pieces larger than life reflected all that was about Rothbury. As one walked through the woods there was nothing to stop looking at these pieces made from recycled materials.
Human energy 5) by cell phones: This was the most eco-friendly thing happens at Rothbury and I found it very impressive. In this stand, people on bicycles fixed with charge your cell phone! If eco-friendly that does not scream, I do not know what it does. Rothbury sold together as assistants, were able to generate enough power to charge cell phones and even disco. Electricity was generated and then used to digitally record songs that were later available for download. Exercise, charge the phone, disco and be eco-friendly all at once!
Rothbury was a 4 great days of the festival that promotes sustainability. It was great meeting with people who enjoy great music and great things for the environment. Having festivals like this encourages people to be more environmentally friendly which is always a good thing!
