Are you a toothache sufferer? If you are you know it can be debilitating and depressing. Toothache can cause the sufferer some intense pain and can be very distressing.
What exactly is a toothache? It would seem a simple question. It's a tooth that hurts. And certainly that's correct. However that doesn't accurately describe the intensity of the pain that a sufferer can feel and it doesn't describe exactly how much a simple pain in the tooth can impact on just about every aspect of your life.
And it doesn't describe how a serious toothache can impact on so many areas of your life.
And it can describe different things. For example there is tooth "sensitivity" that feels pretty much like pain in the teeth. Sensitivity can be caused by a number of factors like excessive wear on the teeth from grinding the teeth at night. Or by recession of the gum that exposes more of the outer layer of the tooth to the effects of hot and cold food particularly.
And there can be many other factors. A cracked tooth for example, or flu, or sinus problems or gingivitis. Gingivitis is a condition where the gum draws back from the edges of the teeth following the build up of tartar, usually because of inadequate brushing.
There is a range of dental problems caused by poor gum health and pain in the teeth is one of them. And poor gum health is a leading cause of tooth loss in the US.
And as well as dental conditions there are also some medical conditions that can lead to toothache as well. Some you may never have even considered likely to cause pain in the teeth. For example did you know that angina can cause toothache?
If your toothache is caused by serious medical or dental conditions you ought, of course, to consult a doctor or dentist and have them diagnosed and treated.
But if you're waiting for diagnosis or cure and still suffering from the pain of toothache there are some simple home remedies that you can turn to for simple pain relief. Whilst you need to treat any serious medical and dental conditions you can make the pain go away, without the need for serious painkilling drugs in many cases.
And some of these simple home remedies for toothache are simpler and cheaper than you might expect.
So if you're in the throes of toothache you need the problem diagnosed but you don't need to feel the pain. Usually the use of painkilling drugs can be avoided by some simple and cheap home remedies.
If you need to perform at your optimum you may just need these simple home remedies for toothache.
