Winchester Mansion
Winchester Manor is a residence of 162 acres Sarah Winchester. The mansion was built continuously from 1884 until his death in 1922. It has been estimated at about 5.5 million.
The story of the Haunted Mansion began when the husband of Sarah Winchester and her son died. A medium told him to move west and build a house for the departed spirits killed by Winchester rifles Winchester Repeating Arms Company. Sarah's family was cursed and the only way to save his life from death is build a house for the spirit to live in. Sarah will live as long as it continues to build the house.
It was originally seven stories before it is reduced to four after the 1906 earthquake struck the building. It was made entirely with redwood and a floating base. There are 160 rooms and 40 rooms and 2 ballrooms. It also has 47 fireplaces, 17 chimneys, 2 basements and 3 elevators.
Today, the house is owned by investment Winchester LLC and declared as a monument to California.
