Comfort Classic

If Obama and staff can quickly boost the economy, we all need to eat more comfortably. And we'll eat at home more. As a society, I think we need to slow down a bit and enjoy more "moments". Economic slowdown today May only have been the wakeup call we need.
Personally, I feel I'm a 20 years-blending roller coaster family, career, friends, networking, volunteering, raising a child from age 40, widowed, re-marry, get my daughter to university is to advise her career --- and going to the gym! I earned my money, saved money, and spent a lot of money. Is all this madness?
I had a 17-year-old student from France, Audrey, about 16 years. I took her to Costco. She was crushed to the low prices we have. She loved America. Two years later she came to visit again. She noted: "In France, we supported from the cradle to the grave by the government. Accordingly, we have no money and prices are high. We do not have much 'stuff'. "This time, it attempts to evaluate which system was better. I became more aware of how many" things "we have.
Audrey made me start thinking as it is much easier to buy things to get rid them. I'm sure my age is the main reason. Young people can not get stuff "enough." My 22 year old daughter is an excellent example. However, I tell her she could buy a lot, but it is best to buy only what she loved. Once, when she was high school, she entered Dressing Macy's and tried on at least 20 garments. She left with nothing, and said: "I have something to love.
Why is the comfort food of medicine we need in a bad economy. Well, it reminds us that our mothers and grandmothers cooked. It is often the retro or classic recipes that ignores the kitchen again. It is often a mixture of a lot of food categories in a dish. It is often cooked during 30 min. an hour by adding delicious smells in the house. It makes us feel safe that someone cares enough for us to cook dinner. And then we sat down and eat together.
Aha, this sounds good. Can we stop long enough to dine together as a family? It was proved that there are enormous benefits for children at a family dinner. The findings of a study conducted by Columbia University show that adolescents who consume less than 3 family dinners per week are:
 • Two and a half times more likely to smoke cigarettes.
 • More than one and a half times more likely to drink alcohol.
 • Almost three times more likely to try marijuana.
Two researchers at the University of Minnesota investigated the potential benefits of family meals and found the children gain the following benefits:
 • Better nutrition
 • Better language and literacy
 • Under eating disorders
 • Less risk behaviors.
Joseph Califano Jr., chairman and president of the National Center addition and addiction, says that " family dinner is more powerful than any law we can pass all the trouble that we can "level of protection of children against the risk behavior." commitment parents is a crucial weapon in the fight against addiction, "he said. "If I could wave a need, I'd do everyone a family dinner."
The new cookbook The Food Nanny Rescues Dinner, Easy Family Meals for each day of the week is not only chock full of recipes and comfort power, but one day of the week is devoted to food for comfort, Monday. The author Liz Edmunds said that because Monday is the day after weekend when children need to return to the routine of school for the week. Comfort food helps achieve this goal.
My new resolution of the year is slow, for the comfort food for family meals, and learn to make bread and homemade pizza, as the author Book exclaims above is not as hard as you think and makes mom very "special".
