Sleep is not just one of those things that kills time until you can get up and busy again! Sleep is essential to our mental and physical wellbeing. Without it, our immune systems are weakened, the number of white cells in our body decreases the production of human growth hormone (GH), a substance anti-aging, falls, and our ability to metabolize sugar lowering, convert sugar into fat. Sleep deprivation has even been used as a method of torture because of extreme mental and physical anguish, victims are required!
Sleep is necessary to regenerate certain parts of the body, especially the brain, so you can continue to operate optimally. And, because when we sleep we have the experience associated with REM sleep, which are fortified and emotionally mentally. We wake up alert, energized and balanced. Believe it or not, an extra hour of sleep may be better for our overall health than an hour in the gym!
But it is often a challenge to create a quiet place, conducive to optimal sleep. That's why creating a "sanctuary of sleep" is so critical. . . that tells the body and mind that it is "time to let go."
Make sure your sleeping area is quiet and dark. Try not to sleep in the same room as you do your job. Turn off the computer and television long before his time that night. Set the thermostat at a temperature slightly cooler (65 to 70 degrees). You can always add another layer, but a foul air and climate can cause discomfort and difficulty breathing.
Many people, especially the urban population can not escape the sounds of the city, place a sound conditioner (also called "white noise machine") by their beds to help them sleep. These machines offer a number of sounds, white noise (static sound low) to smooth rhythms with the sound of the waves sea hitting the shore.
